MRF Tyres Finland's second year of operation was divided into two parts. The beginning of the year was colored by the availability challenges of the snow tyres, which naturally also affected sales. The summer season, in turn, was quite bullish both in terms of sales and sales success. The gems of the second year of operation were two SM golds, the team SM silver and the title race MRF Tyres Sprint.
At the beginning of the year, the challenging world situation also hit MRF's tyres hard. The bad corona situation in India also affected the operation of the MRF factory a lot and e.g. to the availability of snow tyres in Finland.
- Getting snow tyres for the winter of 2022 was quite challenging, but we didn't give up and at the very last minute we managed to get a small amount to Finland, said CEO Sami Kivioja.
After winter turned to spring, the tyre situation also eased and sales started to rise well.
In the Rally SM series, MRF tyres dominated the SM2 and SM5 classes, while Ville Hautamäki and Jere Pensas drove to several class wins and eventually became Finnish champions. MRF tyres were also used for second place in the teams' SM series. In addition, MRF tyres were used for class wins, podium positions and own records both in the Rally SM series as well as in the Youth and Junior SM series.
MRF tyres have found a solid customer base, and during 2022, the tyre has achieved class wins in several national rallies, both with four-wheel drive and front-wheel drive vehicles, as well as with historic class cars. In addition, the summer season races of the BMW Rally series were again run on MRF tyres, and at the end of the season, the MRF award was given in the series. And not only in rally, MRF tyres have also been used in other car sports, such as constant speed driving and rally sprint. In September, the title race MRF Tyres Sprint was organized, which gathered a large number of participants. MRF tyres were also used in track racing in the Formula Open Finland series.
- MRF is at a good level and the tyre is getting better all the time. Asphalt tyre too, says Marcus Grönholm, two-time rally world champion and chairman of the board of MRF Tires Finland.
The recognition of MRF tyres and customers' trust in the tyre grew significantly during the year. It's good to continue towards the new season!
