The year 2023 was MRF Tires Finland's third year of operation. The recognition of MRF tires and customers' trust in the tire increased again during the year from the previous year. The highlight of the year was the success in the SM series and the title race MRF Tires Sprint organized for the second time, for which the SM title is promised in 2024.
At the beginning of the year, the challenging world situation also hit MRF's wheels hard. The bad corona situation in India also affected the operation of the MRF factory a lot and e.g. to the availability of winter rally tyres in Finland.
- The tire warehouse started to be empty, so Juha jumped into the van and headed to Sweden. After driving1700 kilometers and two ferry trips, the customers received winter rally tyres for the Kuopio SM Rally. Fortunately, Juha didn't have to go all the way from India to get tires, laughed Sami Kivioja.
After winter turned to spring, the tire situation also eased and sales started to rise well.
In the Rally SM series, MRF tires were used for two Finnish championships. In the SM5 class, Ville Hautamäki achieved his fourth consecutive championship and in juniors (RSJM) Tuukka-Matias Kivioja drove to his first Finnish championship at the end of an exciting season.
Ville also scored team championship points with MRF tires for Co-Motorsport, which was the number one team this year. In addition, MRF tires were used for class wins, podium positions and own records in the Rally SM series, Youth and Junior SM series as well as in other national rallies.
The summer season races of the BMW Rally series were again run on MRF tires, and at the end of the season, the MRF award was again given in the series. And not only in rally, MRF tires have also been used in other car sports, such as constant speed driving and rally sprint. The title race MRF Tires Sprint organized in August again gathered a large group of participants and the race will be a part of the SM series next year.
In 2023, MRF Tyres Finland will also activate its international operations at the European level.
- In the 2024 season, we will continue to work for MRF's development, tyre sales and the community. We wish all MRF drivers success in next year's races and we welcome the new MRF drivers to our community, says CEO Sami Kivioja.
